Don’t Miss the 13th Annual Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival

June 16th, 2017 by Corey A. Edwards

Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival 2017The 2017 Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival celebrates its 13th anniversary this year. The week-long event takes place July 14th through the 23rd, 2017 at the Finger Lakes Community College concert hall.

The Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival has been bringing world-class classical music artists to the Finger Lakes since 2005 – and this year is no exception! The 2017 season is set to once again explore some of the greatest chamber music pieces ever written via some of the scene’s top talent.

The 2017 season sees the Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival debut of sensational Lithuanian pianist and Naumburg competition winner, Ieva Jokubaviciute. Ieva will help kick off the festival on July 14th with her rendition of Robert Schumann’s “Fantasy.” Avalon Sting Quartet will make their Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival debut on the same evening with Franz Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden”.

July 21st presents an unusual combination of instruments and a program of South American music from guest artist trio, Chalaca. Chalaca is composed of harpist Bridget Kibbey, Grammy-nominated clarinetist Benito Meza, and percussionist Samuel Torres.

Another highlight is Classical Blue Jeans: an evening of comfort food and classical music at The Lodge at Bristol Harbour Resort. This event always sells out, so get your tickets before it’s too late!
